Who are we? bloomon is turning the flower industry on its head – for the better. How? By disrupting the traditional supply chain, where most florists operate offline and have done for decades. bloomon creates seasonal collections using unusual stems to deliver unique flower arrangements on repeat. We always use field-fresh high-quality flowers straight from the grower and deliver to our customers through a high-tech and highly creative platform. Our e-commerce company launched in Amsterdam in 2014 and went from start-up to scale-up at hypersonic speed. We are already active in six countries: the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK, Denmark, and France. Next step? to conquer Europe… and then the world. Our goal? To become the first global flower brand in the lifestyle segment, filling hearts and homes with happiness. One bouquet at a time.

How we roll - Logistics at bloomon
We’re responsible for delivering tens of thousands of flowers per week across six countries (and counting), by combining a dedicated hands-on mentality with data-focused strategic thinking. We relish the challenge of keeping our blooms super fresh on their 36-hour journey from flower bed to table. As the logistics hub for dozens of external depots per country, we operate our dense network of long-haul shipments and local traffic like pros. We do not have our own fleet, but collaborate with loads of external partners to organize our last mile logistics. Bloomon-trained drivers use vans for our dedicated delivery service. Additionally, we work with major parcel networks to ensure the deliveries in the rural areas.

What will you do - Your biggest challenge is to strategically and operationally roll out a strong Logistics & Operations network in Germany! You are responsible for all logistical streams in Germany and together with an international team you ensure a smooth delivery for all our German customers. You organize, plan and optimize our long-haul and last-mile deliveries, you take care of the logistic budget and financial targets and you take the lead in process optimization and improvement projects. Furthermore you extend our international network of depots, delivery partners and parcell partners for our thousands of deliveries per week. And oh, we expect the current numbers to quadruple! You are the direct contact person for other departments like sales and finance when it comes to all logistics in Germany. You do all of this with one goal: ensuring our delivery service is of the highest quality, so we have happy customers at all times.

 

Wie ben jij?

What do we expect from you? - You are proactive, independent and have an obvious ‘can do’ attitude. You’re not afraid of responsibility and are an excellent problem solver always aiming for the best results. You love to work in a dynamic, self-starting environment and are able to juggle with several balls at the same time and still keep the overview. Your strong communication skills will guide you in negotiations and in managing external suppliers.
 

BACKGROUND:

  • MSc or BSc qualification;
  • 1-3 year work experience in an operational working environment, preferably logistics or production;
  • IT savvy;
  • Fluent in German & English (speaking and writing);
  • Drivers licence;
  • Frequent travel to Berlin and/or Amsterdam;
